3.5🌟starsNot a bad story written from the viewpoint of a very unworldly young man who can't keep his mind off his handsome pal. BDSM (physical restraint and some violence) plays an important role in Cody's life on the wrong side of town and in his lusty relationship with BFF Hunter. Some of the bondage stuff was too violent for my taste. Also, the naivety of the pair was a bit disturbing; though it made for some dramatic moments, it made them seem much younger than their stated age and like no one had ever told them you should be cautious about trusting strangers.What elevated this story above just a series of scenes with bondage and fooling around was the dream Cody and Hunter held on to for a better life away from their shabby trailerpark.I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Hunter and Cody are desperate to move out of the Meadow Heights trailer park AKA the Hole. With barely a high school education, their future is bleak. Facing dead end jobs and no way out, Hunter, the eternal optimist, takes Rick at face value for a way out. Hunter's retribution for Rick's action is as brutal as Rick's. Ben is a sweetheart who point out what Cody wants is already by his side. With the aid of uncle Cal's new girlfriend Clarissa Cal and Cody leave the hole. A chance encounter, leads Hunter to a good job and a way out of the Hole.I did hope for move closure with Risk $$$. I also would have liked if Ben could see Hunter and Cody together at last.
